Meeting
Agenda For February 2019
February 5 - Check
your email for details

February
12 - Board Meeting
The second Tuesday of each month is our TUGNET board meeting.
In case you arent aware of it, our board meetings are
open to all members. So if there is something on your mind,
an idea youd like to introduce, or a gripe (gosh, I
hope not), you are welcome to come share it with us.
All members are welcome to attend. You don't have to be a
Board member.
We meet for dinner at 6:00 p.m., meeting begins at 7:00,
in the conference room of the Horseless Carriage Restaurant,
Galpin Ford, 15505 Roscoe Blvd., North Hills.

February 19 - What
Do I Do Now with my Old XP Computer?
During our meetings, sometimes someone will mention that
they have an old computer, maybe even one still running XP.
When there are legacy programs which are meaningful, they
dont want to lose them. Reminders are repeated that
XP is no longer updated nor supported which means it can be
risky to use them for Internet purposes.
Here is Stew Bottorf to give us some of his ideas
on this topic. What he has to say may be helpful if you are
still using that old computer. If you have one on the
shelf, not quite ready to toss out, it may give you
ideas about reviving it. Incidentally, we are not responsible
for discussions which may arise at home because
of these ideas!
So do come and hear what he has to say!

Just kidding - Webmaster couldn't resist temptation.

Menu
and stores info
This month we will be dining at one our favorite
restaurants in Northridge. Come join us as we all sit together
and order from their varied menu. I sincerely hope you will
take advantage of this easy way to help TUGNET raise needed
funds.
They also have a rewards
program so don't forget to use your card or register for their
rewards program. That way you get your own rewards too.
They give a generous 20% to organizations
like TUGNET who schedule a dining event. This is a well-liked
restaurant by many of our members so we hope to visit periodically
during this year. We will be meeting in the banquet room.
Here is your opportunity to help TUGNET while
you enjoy a lovely, healthy meal with no preparation or clean-up.
Really what can be better than that?
Most get there between
5:30 & 6 p.m. Hope to see
you there.
There are servers waiting for you
I think its called a win-win!
Try to come as the number of guests always an influence as
to whether we can return. See you there!
It's
always more fun eating together!
